Detective Chief Superintendent Wallace is in charge of Leith CID in Edinburgh.
In 1988, he was involved heavily with the Edinburgh Strangler case, which he supervised to its conclusion. He held press conferences and briefed the investigation team periodically when new developments occured. He worked with CI William Anderson until his son was found murdered, then he dismissed Anderson and took over the case himself.
